Ferris Wheels!!

August 17, 2009 at 7:53 pm (Uncategorized)

Ahhhh, childhood!  I have always loved Ferris Wheels.  They were always so much fun and now remind me of being a kid.  Its even more fun to see them through the eyes of my kids!

A few weeks ago we took our kids to the County Fair.  They had a blast seeing all the rides and lights and even going on a few of the kids rides.  It was a good time for all!

I took the opportunity to snap a few shots of the Ferris Wheel and added those prints to myEtsy shop

According to the lab, the eco friendly paper is 100% post consumer waste and is 100% wind power manufactured.

Butterflies and Dragonflies

July 27, 2009 at 5:13 pm (Uncategorized)

While at the Botanic Gardens, I was able to capture a few butterflies and a dragonfly.  I love both of these insects!  They are just so beautiful and elegant, yet fragile.

I have always wanted to capture a pretty dragonfly.  This one that I found was has one I have never seen before.  It had a blackish body with speckled wings.  So unique!

This second Dragonfly print has not been added to Etsy yet, but it will be soon!

More Flowers!!

July 21, 2009 at 3:50 pm (Uncategorized)

I really love photographing flowers.  I love to try to be different with my angles and with my edits.  Flowers are so beautiful and I strive to capture that beauty….hopefully in a new way!

Yesterday I had the chance to shoot some really pretty flowers in my In-Law’s neighborhood.  Today, I also plan to go back to the Botanic Gardens, so expect more flower posts over the next few days!!

Oh, how I love Tulips!  They are such a beautiful flower.  They are simple, yet elegant!  A few months ago, my husband and I took the kids to the Botanic Gardens and they had tons of Tulips of all shapes and colors.  I was in tulip heaven!

Here are two examples of the beautiful tulips I captured that day.

Yesterday, I took the kids to the Zoo we have here in Denver.  The Zoo has a nice carousel that the kids like to ride from time to time.  Yesterday was one of those times.   While we waited for our turn on the carousel, I made an attempt at some abstract photography.

I am happy with how the pictures turned out.  I love the movement in the pictures and I love how the pictures make you wonder what you are looking at (that is, if you didn’t know it was a carousel).

I hope to head out around Denver one night to try and get more movement shots!

I have been awful at updating my blog!  Life and summer have been keeping me busy.  We have had birthdays and camping trips and family in town.  Its been a great summer so far!

When I think if summer, I think of the beach and when I think of the beach, I think of the waves, and starfish!  🙂   I love the beach!

These are two of my prints that are currently in my Etsy shop!
